Katherine M. Keyes, PhD, is an assistant professor of epidemiology at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She received her doctorate in Epidemiology from Columbia University in June of 2010, after completion of her MPH degree in 2006. Katherine’s injury research focus on factors related to alcohol-attributable injury, unintentional drug overdose, and suicide, including assessment of trends over time using age-period-cohort methods. Her work has highlighted and extended several existing age-period-cohort methods, most notably including the median polish method. She also focuses on social epidemiology, with a research program assessing how and why disparities arise in injury outcomes across racial/ethnic minorities as well as immigrant groups.
