The 2026 National Injury Prevention Day was a tremendous success. On November 18th, hospitals, trauma centers, health, police, fire departments, and nonprofit organizations dedicated to health and safety united to raise awareness about the burden of injuries. Injury and Violence is the #1 cause of death and hospitalization for people ages 1–44. Activities across teh country included webinars and conferences with notable speakers such as the NIPD kick-off webinar and the post-NIPD fireside chat, a lunchtime Instagram Live event, social media campaigns, news interviews and briefs, advocacy work, hundreds of local injury prevention activities, illuminated buildings, bridges, and landmarks across 40 states and 145 cities.
